Laser Hair Removal
If you are tired with shaving, tweezing, or waxing to remove unwanted hair, laser hair removal may be an option worth considering. Laser hair removal is a popular, most common cosmetic procedure in the UK. We at Dermacore use the latest, most effective, medical grade, Symphony Ice technology (triple wavelength) to target and eliminate unwanted hair for good, leaving your skin silky smooth. The light source from the Symphony Ice works by heating and destroying hair follicles in the skin, which disrupts hair growth, and the use of different wavelengths means it is suitable for broad range skin types and tones. The cooling applicator makes the whole experience painless, comfortable and quick.

Laser Hair Removal Before & After
The SYMPHONY Ice Technology
SYMPHONY Ice is a medical grade, triple wavelength laser that uses the principle of selective photothermolysis to eliminate hair and its potential regrowth without affecting the surrounding tissue. During the treatment, the targeted light source from SYMPHONY Ice passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. Due to this absorption, the temperature of hair is hiked, thus destroying the hair itself and, also the cells responsible for regrowth. Symphony ICE offer painless, permanent results for all skin types and tones, in a safe environment.

FAQs
Is there any pre-treatment advice?
We recommend
- You do not wax, bleach, pluck, or have electrolysis for at least four weeks before treatment. Shave the area if necessary.
- Shave 1 day before treatment not very close to the skin, this is important for the effectiveness of the procedure. Otherwise this may delay your appointment.
- Please make your practitioner aware of any significant sun exposure and if tanning products used at the consultation.
What happens on the day?
On the day of your initial treatment, the practitioner will cleanse and mark out the area of the skin where the laser will be used to eliminate hair. The practitioner will then apply the correct settings to the laser machine so that the most effective beam is used in accordance with your skin type and tone.Just before starting the treatment safety eyewear will be given to you by your practitioner to protect your eyes from the light generated by the laser machine. A cooling gel is applied to the treatment area just before the hand piece laser is applied to the skin. The precisely controlled pulses of intense light energy are delivered to the hair and are absorbed by the melanin, this damages the hair and follicle, preventing regrowth. The hair affected by the laser, shed naturally, up to two weeks after treatment.

The device used at Dermacore is FDA approved safe and effective technology, bearing the CE mark also, meaning it conforms to all the European standards.

Symphony ICE Laser hair removal is not a painful procedure; however, some patients feel pinprick or heat sensation in the treated area. This is generally a good indication of light beam reaching the targeted melanin in the hair and destroying it. Although comfort levels may vary from client to client, these sensations are temporary and subside post-treatment.

Most common areas to treat are the face, chest, back, legs, arms, underarms and bikini line.
How many treatments do I need?
Although you will a reduction in unwanted hair after your first treatment, we recommend 6-10 sessions (depending on area, hair colour, gender and ethnicity). As lasers can only destroy hair in its active growth phase, about 20-25% of hair remain dormant at any one time. Therefore repeat sessions are required to targets these hairs when they enter the growth phase.
